Take control of your diabetes without spending hours at the hospital

See a diabetes doctor from home. No waiting room, no taking a day off work, and no four-hour trip for a fifteen-minute review.

[ Book your first consultation ]

Appointments available this week. Your first consultation is 30 minutes.

Problem

You already know what you are supposed to do.

Check your sugar. Take your medication. Come back in three months.

What people don’t always talk about is everything that gets in the way of those three months. The clinic that only runs on certain mornings. The queue that starts before you arrive. The eleven-minute appointment after a four-hour wait.

Maybe you skipped the follow-up in June because you couldn’t afford to lose another day’s pay. Then September came around. By then, you had already missed June, and the thought of sitting through another appointment and being told off wasn’t exactly appealing.

That is how diabetes care starts to drift. Usually not because someone stopped caring. Getting care can simply become exhausting.

And once the gaps get longer, more of the decisions start happening at home. A dose that hasn’t felt right for months. A strange reading you meant to ask about. A side effect you’ve quietly put up with because making another trip to the clinic didn’t feel worth it.

Diabetes does not do well with long silences.

Solution

Steady is built around the part of diabetes care that happens between appointments.

Not a one-off consultation. Not another app telling you things you already know.

You have a doctor who knows your history, reviews your numbers regularly and changes your care when something needs attention.

The technology helps make that possible. But the real point is consistency. Being able to do it from home simply removes one of the biggest reasons people struggle to stay consistent in the first place.

How it works

1. Book a consultation

Choose a time that works for you, including evenings. When you register, tell us about your diagnosis, medications and recent readings.

2. Meet your doctor

You’ll spend 30 minutes on video with a licensed physician experienced in diabetes care. You’ll talk through your history, your readings, your medications and what is actually difficult about managing diabetes day to day. You leave with a written plan.

3. Share your readings between visits

Upload them through the app or send them on WhatsApp. Your doctor reviews them on a set schedule, rather than waiting until your next appointment.

4. Get help when something changes

If your readings suggest that your treatment needs attention, you can raise it without waiting months for the next routine visit. Prescriptions can be sent to a pharmacy near you. Follow-up reviews are shorter and included in your plan.

What changes

Fewer missed follow-ups

Regular review makes it easier to spot problems early and deal with them before they become harder to manage.

Faster treatment adjustments

When something isn’t working, you don’t have to wait until your next three-month appointment to bring it up.

Someone actually looking at your numbers

Most people with a glucose meter collect plenty of readings without ever having someone sit down and explain the pattern. Knowing why your numbers keep running high on Tuesday evenings can be more useful than simply taking another reading.

Less time lost to getting care

No transport across town. No waiting room. No lost workday. For some people, removing those costs is what makes regular care possible.

Who this is for

  • Adults with type 2 diabetes, whether you take tablets or insulin
  • People with type 1 diabetes who want more regular support between specialist visits
  • Anyone recently diagnosed who has questions they haven’t had enough time to ask
  • People with prediabetes who want to make changes early
  • Anyone whose glucose control has drifted and wants help getting back on track

Who this is not for

We would rather tell you that upfront than take your money and send you somewhere else.

If this is an emergency, please go to a hospital. Chest pain, confusion, persistent vomiting, difficulty breathing, or a very high glucose reading with drowsiness needs urgent in-person care.

If you have a foot ulcer, a wound that is not healing, or new numbness in your feet, you need a physical examination. We can help you work out where to go, but that is not something we should try to manage entirely over video.

If you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, you need coordinated obstetric and diabetes care. Blood glucose targets and monitoring are different in pregnancy, and your care should reflect that.

If you have no way to check your blood sugar, remote diabetes management may not be appropriate yet. Tell us when you register and we can help you work out what you need first.

What actually happens in a consultation

If you’ve never had a video appointment before, the uncertainty can be the biggest barrier. So here’s what you can expect.

You join through a link on your phone. Your doctor has already seen the information you shared when you registered, so you don’t have to start from the beginning.

They’ll ask about your diagnosis, your medications and how you’re actually taking them, your recent readings, what you eat, and what makes managing diabetes difficult in everyday life.

They’ll also ask about the things people sometimes leave out. Do you skip doses when you feel well? Is cost getting in the way? Does a medication make you feel unwell? This isn’t a test, and nobody is there to scold you.

Your doctor will explain what your numbers mean, agree on a plan with you, and adjust treatment if needed. You’ll get a written summary and a prescription if one is appropriate.

Thirty minutes. No queue. You can do it from home.

Why trust us

Licensed physicians

Every Steady doctor is registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and has experience managing diabetes. You can review your doctor’s credentials before you book.

Doctors make the clinical decisions

Technology helps organise your information and flag when a review is due. Your treatment decisions are made by a clinician who has reviewed your case.

Clear escalation

If you need an in-person examination or another level of care, we’ll tell you. We can also help you find the right service. The goal is appropriate care, not keeping every problem inside the platform.

Your data stays yours

Your information is encrypted and confidential. We don’t sell it. You can request your records or delete your account.

Questions people ask

What does it cost?

Your first consultation is a flat fee, shown before you book. Ongoing care is available through a monthly plan covering scheduled reviews, readings checked between visits and messaging access to your care team. You’ll see what is included before you pay.

Can a doctor really manage my diabetes without examining me?

A lot of routine diabetes management can be done remotely using your history, glucose readings and response to treatment. Some parts still need to happen in person. Your annual foot examination and eye screening are examples. We’ll let you know when those are due and where to get them. We won’t pretend a video call can replace everything.

What if my internet is bad?

If video won’t hold, your consultation can continue by audio. You can also send readings through WhatsApp. If connectivity is a regular problem, tell us when you register so we can plan around it.

I’ve had diabetes for fifteen years and my control is poor. Is it too late?

No. There is still value in improving glucose control and getting regular care. If you’ve been managing on your own for a long time, having someone review the whole picture with you can be a useful place to start.

Can I cancel?

Yes. You can cancel from your account at any time. There is no notice period.

Get started

Your next three months can look a lot like the last three. Or you can have a doctor who knows your numbers, checks in regularly and helps you make changes when you need them.
